Intro to Cricket– Compton Youth Sessions

Learn cricket the fun way! 🏏 Bi-weekly sessions for ages 7–17. Beginners welcome! Bring a water bottle, breathable athletic clothes, and tennis shoes. Sign up for the Compton Cricket Club and join our community of young athletes.
Program Goal:
The goal of SCJCA’s Intro to Cricket sessions is to introduce youth in Compton (ages 7–17) to the sport of cricket, teaching fundamental skills like batting, bowling, and fielding, while fostering teamwork, physical activity, and community engagement. Additionally, the program aims to encourage ongoing participation in organized cricket through the Compton Cricket Club.

At the Southern California Junior Cricket Academy (SCJCA), we believe in more than just sports. R.I.S.E.
Rights, Integrity, and Social Empowerment

RISE is a youth-focused legal education and empowerment program designed for high school students ages 15–18 in the City of Compton. Over 10 weeks, participants will engage in virtual workshops, receive mentorship from legal professionals, and attend in-person visits to courtrooms and legal institutions.
Students will graduate with increased knowledge, confidence, and career insight — plus a $300 stipend!

Cricket Pitch Ribbon Cutting Ceremony June 7, 2025
This exciting event marked the official unveiling of Compton’s first dedicated youth cricket pitch, a space where young athletes can train, compete, and grow both on and off the field. Families, city officials, community leaders, and partners gathered to celebrate the opening, witness live cricket demonstrations, and hear inspiring words from youth participants and local advocates.
